This contest will put your skills to the test, can you identify turquoise?
With all of the variations of turquoise that is mined around the world, the many imitations, and other minerals sold as turquoise; turquoise identification can be very hard. Identifying a stone just based on how it looks can be difficult, however not always impossible.
Entry Fee: $5
Concept: Competitors will have up to two hours to correctly identify 30 pieces of turquoise, with no special equipment. The contestant that answer the most correct will win, if there is a tie, the contestant to complete their identifications fastest will win. The top 3 winners will be announced at the Hall of Fame Banquet, and each will receive a cash prize.
